DEMOLITION DERBY RULES AND REGULATIONS

·         All drivers must be at least 16 years old.  Drivers under 18 must have a notarized release
               signed by his or her parent or guardian.

·
        
The track or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.
·         Any driver or pit person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately disqualified
               and removed from the grounds.

·
        
Good sportsmanship is a must.
·
        
All drivers must wear an approved helmet, face shield or safety glasses, and a seat belt.
·
        
No pit men of spectators allowed on track at any time.
·
        
Such things as junk tires, wheels, and sheet metal must be taken with you after the event.
·
        
Derby will consist of individual heats and a feature main event.  The top three cars running in
               each heat will be stopped and will advance to the main event.

·
        
Feature main event winner will be the last car running and moving.
·
        
There will be a 60 second time limit on restarts and contact.

PREPARATION OF CAR/RULES AND REGULATIONS

·         All American made hardtop automobiles except hearses, ambulances, limo’s or 4x4 vehicle
         and Imperials 1966 and older.

·         Front driver and passenger doors must be painted white.

·         Car numbers to be chosen by driver, but may not be more than 3 digits long and the height
         must be at least 18”.  Numbers must be painted on both white doors and on the roof of
         the car.

·         All cars must have all interior parts except front seat removed (dashboard optional).

·         All glass, lights, mirrors, chrome, weather strips, and door handles must be removed prior to
         arrival at event.

·         All dirt, broken glass, and debris will be swept clean from car prior to arrival at event.

·         Brakes must work!!

·         All cars must have at least one wire, metal rod or chain from the roof (windshield area) to the
         cowling to prevent the hood from coming through the windshield.

·         Hood sheet metal must remain over fan blade and no aluminum flexible fans.

BATTERY:
 
- One battery any size.  If moved, battery must be re-located to the front  passenger floor, securely mounted and covered with a rubber mat.
GAS TANK:



 
- Stock tank must be removed.
- 5 gallon metal gas tanks securely mounted behind drivers seat are acceptable.
- Metal or plastic boat tanks are allowed.
- Tank must be covered with rubber (example: rubber car mat)
TIRES:





 
- 15” maximum, any tread, any ply, foam filled, tire inside tire or tubes accepted.
- NO studded tires / we do not want flat tires. 
No flat tires makes for a better show.
-
NO wheel weights, water, antifreeze, calcium or metal of any kind allowed in tires.
- Valve stem protectors allowed.
ENGINES:



 
- Engines may be interchanged
- Motor mounts may be welded or chained, but must not reinforce any other components.
- Exhaust may exit straight up or away from driver only.
- No electric fuel pumps.
TRANSMISSIONS:





 

Shifting method may be altered so long as it doesn’t pose a safety threat to the driver.
Transmission mount may be chained, banded, or wired.
Transmission coolers are allowed, but only in the engine compartment.
Transmission burp tube (heater hose from the top of fouler tube run down filler tube towards ground)  is mandatory to prevent fires.

RADIATORS:

 

Only factory stock radiators allowed.
Radiator must remain in stock position.
Only water may be used in the radiator.  No anti-freeze due to E.P.A.

REAR ENDS:
 

No truck rear ends.
Differential rear ends may be welded for traction purposes.

SUSPENSION:




 

Control arms, tie rods, ball joints, etc. must remain stock.
No extra bolts.
No welding control arms to frame (must be stock)
Leaf springs must be stock (max. of 2 clamps per side)
Coil springs may be welded or wired to the rear end housing to prevent springs from coming out.

TRUNKS/HOODS:





 

-  All secured trunks and hoods must have 10” diameter inspection holes.
-  Hoods, trunks, and tailgates must be welded, wired, or chained in a minimum of 4 places.
-  FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS MUST BE ATTACHED TO HOODS,  TRUNKS, AND TAILGATES IN A MINIMUM OR 2 PLACES TO           PREVENT BUMPERS FROM COMING OFF OF THE CAR.

BUMPERS:


 

All bumpers and shocks may be welded, but no additional           metal added or homemade brackets.
Bumper ends may be cut.
Bumpers may be chained to bracket or frame.

SEAM WELDS:



 

OUTER:     Doors, trunk lids, and tailgates may be welded.  No more than 12” per seam.
INNER:   INNER BODY SEAMS MAY NOT BE RE-WELDED IN ANY   WAY ANYWHERE!!  Inside of doors may not be welded.  Inside of       trunk body seams may not be welded.

FRAME:






 

MAY NOT BE RE-WELDED ON SEAMS.
NO PLATING FRAME ANYWHERE FOR ANY REASON.
NO LOADED FRAMES.
NO WELDING OF BODY MOUNT WASHERS TO FRAME.
NO GUSSETS BETWEEN BODY AND FRAME.
ANY WELDING ON FRAME FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN       BUMPER BRACKET ATTACHMENT WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE      DISQUALIFICATION!

BODY MOUNTS:

 
- MUST BE STOCK.  Must have factory rubber where it is supposed to be.  Must have stock size bolts.  No extra washers.  No extra mounts.  No alterations.

DRIVER'S
COMPARTMENT:









 

Maximum 3” diameter pipe or square tubing may be used.
May have pipe or tubing across dash door to door.
May have pipe or tubing behind drivers seat across door to door, no more than 12” behind seat.
- For drivers safety and reinforcement of the drivers compartment, pipe or
-
 tubing across the inside of the drivers door must be securely connected with welds to the pipe or tubing across the dash and behind the seat.
Drivers door and bar on the inside of the car must be padded.
Roll over bars are permitted behind drivers seat.
Bars must be attached inside car to the body only.

·         CARS WILL BE INSPECTED BEFORE THE EVENT.

·         RULES ARE CLEARLY STATED!!

·         WE WILL NOT TOLERATE WHINING OR CRYING AFTER THE SHOW!!

·         WHEN IT IS OVER IT IS OVER!!
