 Special Rules

    1.      All entries in Textiles & Handwork are subject to the General Rules & Regulations of the Creative Arts Division as
           published herein.  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

2.        All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor and completed within the last Fair year (September 2007 to September 2008).

3.        Only one (1) article per class for each exhibitor.  Limit of four (4) items in division, except in Nursing Home Exhibits.

4.        NO SOILED ARTICLES ACCEPTED.

5.        All framed items MUST be ready for hanging (wire only).

6.        Garments must be securely attached to hangers.

7.        Kits ARE allowed and no distinction will be made from other articles except for ORIGINALS.

8.        Display of entries is at the discretion of department workers and will be displayed as space allows.

9.        Entries will be judged in the following age categories:
    Youth – 18 years and younger
    Adults – 19 years to 64 years
    Seniors – 65 years and older
    Nursing Home Residents
    Professionals (anyone who profits as a business from needlework)

10.     Judging Criteria:
    40% Workmanship – technique
    25% Overall appearance
    25% Color choice
    10% Finishing

11.    Each entry is judged on its own merits according to the judging criteria.  From the blue merit ribbons within each class, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd or Honorable Mention Rosettes are awarded.  From the First Place Rosettes, a rosette for best of division may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.  From the Best of Division winners, the judges will select the Best in Show winner to receive a wood plaque.  Additionally, each judge and chairman will select his/her favorite item from all entries for a Judge's Choice or Chairman's Choice rosette, respectively.
