Over $1,500 in prizes will be awarded. Grand Prize Winner will receive $500 and a trophy. 1st place winners in each category will receive $150, 2nd place winners in each category will receive $100 and 3rd place winners in each category will receive $50.

Official Rules and Regulations |

1. |
There are four age categories: Category #1 (7 & under); #2 (8-12); #3 (13 – 17); and #4 (18 & over). Categories are determined by an average of the ages of all members of the act including live accompaniment |

2. |
Contestants can perform in only one act. If a contestant performs in more that one act, it results in all acts in which they perform being disqualified. |

3. |
All contestants must perform the same act (song and performers) at the finals that was performed at the preliminaries. |
| |
4. |
(1) Accompaniment tapes are allowed. (2) All tapes must be cued and consist of the item used for the performance only. (3) Accompaniment tapes used by singing contestants can contain background vocals only. Absolutely NO LEAD vocals will be allowed. (4) Performers are responsible for picking up their tape at the sound booth at the preliminaries on August 15, 2009. (5) Finalists are responsible for picking up their tape after the show on September 19, 2009. The Fair is not responsible for lost tapes. The Permian Basin Fair is not responsible for the performance of any tapes or CD’s particularly if it is not professionally burned/recorded. |

5. |
There will be a 4-minute time limit on all acts. This will be strictly enforced. All acts will be timed. |

6. |
Professionals are ineligible. A professional is considered to be anyone whose livelihood is from the type of performance entered. |

7. |
There is no limit to the number of participants per act. |
| |
8. |
No piano will be provided. |
| |
9. |
All acts must be clean and in good taste. |
| |
| 10. |
A sound system will be provided. Any electrical instruments will be required to use the PA system provided as an amplifier. Individual amps will not be permitted. Drums will not be permitted unless they are the primary instruments used in the performance. |

| 11. |
Judging will be based on talent, originality, and showmanship. |
| |
| 12. |
Preliminaries will be held at Music City Mall August 15, 2009 beginning at 10:00 AM |
| |
| 13. |
All acts in categories 1 & 2 must check in at 9:30 AM; categories 3 & 4 at 12:30 PM. |

| 14. |
Five preliminary winners will be chosen for the finals from each category. |
| |
| 15. |
Each finalist will receive one fair pass. |
| |
| 16. |
Finals will be held at the Permian Basin Fair on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 7:00 PM. |
| |
| 17. |
The Grand Prize winner from 2008 is not eligible. |
| |
All rules will be strictly enforced. Any violation will result in immediate disqualification. |
